Another obsession of ours are Vintage Christmas Corsages. We think that our love for these came from growing up and seeing family members and old photos of lapels or hats adorned with live or store made corsages.
We look closely at each one for all the hidden details and surprises. In the 1950s and beyond these became very popular to either make with kits sold or by manufacturers. Real flowers were expensive so this was an alternative. They were offered by five and dime like Woolworths and appeared in seasonal catalogs such as Sears or Eaton’s.

We gave a lecture recently and were amazed at the number of collectors and how corsages are being used. Sue likes to rescue and upscale the corsages she can save and also uses them to decorate trees and wreaths.

As we celebrate Americas 250 birthday, we are posting our patriotic colored corsages.

Corsage: Original Card, Made in Japan label tucked in, 3 red mercury bells , a star reflector with red mercury beads, 2 silver aluminum leaves, red, white, blue and silver striped bow, straight pin on the back
Card: plain gold card. Back of card has handwritten 69 cents.
Condition: Overall - Very Good.
Corsage- Very Good, areas of wear on ornaments, pin is bowed a little, bow is aged
Cardboard- patina, some wear on edges, a crease on the right some marks in card.
Measurements: approximately Corsage- 5 x 4 1/2 ; card-6 x 4 inches
